Honda CB750 - Leghorn

I say, I say Now pay attention, son.
Some bikes are built for speed, others for looks, and a rare few are built for legacy. The Leghorn CB750 falls squarely into the last category—a custom motorcycle as unapologetically bold as the man who inspired it. Based on a 1977 Honda CB750 K7 SOHC, this masterpiece is part WWII fighter plane, part road warrior… and part bombastic rooster! Let’s be clear: this bike doesn’t just turn heads—it shouts, “Alright, boy!” as it barrels down the street, much like its namesake, Chris, used to shout whenever he stormed into the workshop.
From Boxes of Bits to a Two-Wheeled Tribute
The Leghorn CB750 was born from chaos—boxes of parts accumulated over years, patiently waiting for a vision. Sadly, the bike’s original intended owner, Chris, passed away before seeing the finished project come to fruition.
Chris wasn’t just a customer; he was a friend, the kind of guy who’d kick open the door, announce his arrival with a booming “What’s cooking, boy!” and light up the room with his infectious energy. After his passing, the project became a labor of love—a tribute to his larger-than-life personality. Now owned by his son, the bike carries Chris’s spirit with every rev.
Aviation Meets Asphalt
The Leghorn CB750 is what happens when WWII aviation design collides with custom motorcycle craftsmanship. The bodywork design draws heavily from the iconic Mustang P51 fighter plane. The matte gunmetal-grey powder-coated chassis forms the foundation, complemented by satin black hubs and rims laced with stainless spokes. The pale Pacific blue and yellow paint, sealed with satin lacquer and finished with black pinstripes, evokes vintage warbirds while exuding timeless class.
But the real pièce de résistance? A custom acrylic yellow light cover, designed in-house to mimic a fighter jet canopy. It’s quirky, unapologetically bold, and a perfect nod to Chris’s love of aviation.
Power and Precision
Underneath its fighter plane aesthetic lies a machine that’s as much about performance as it is about looks. The engine is cerakoted in satin black, with custom brushed covers and a side oil gauge for added flair. A Wiseco 836cc piston kit, oil cooler conversion, and a 4-into-1 stainless exhaust with a GP-style silencer ensure that this bike isn’t just coasting on its good looks—it can back them up with a roar.
The suspension setup, featuring GL500 air forks, a fork brace, and YSS rear shocks, ensures a ride that’s as smooth as it is aggressive. Twin Brembo brake discs and calipers, a Brembo front master cylinder, and Hel braided lines provide the stopping power needed for a machine this feisty.
The Moto Gadget system—with M-unit, M-lock ignition, and Motoscope speedometer—brings modern reliability to this retro build, while Metzeler Karoo 3 tires ensure it’s ready for whatever turbulance comes its way.
Flat track LSL black handlebars, a Domino quick-pull throttle, and brown Biltwell grips make for a cockpit that feels both rugged and refined. The custom scrambler seat, upholstered in worn brown leather, adds a touch of vintage class while nodding to the past.
The custom aluminum fuel tank, complete with reserve tank and external level tubes, is an engineering marvel that wouldn’t look out of place in a hangar. And let’s not forget the pinup-inspired logo, a cheeky homage to WWII fighter planes and Chris’s sense of humor.
More Than a Bike
The Leghorn CB750 isn’t just a motorcycle—it’s a celebration of a man who lived life loudly and unapologetically. Chris’s booming voice may no longer echo through the workshop, but his spirit lives on in every thunderous exhaust note, and every grin this bike inspires.
This isn’t just a tribute to a man; it’s a reminder that some legacies don’t fade quietly. They roar down the street with the same energy and enthusiasm as the people who inspired them.
And just like Foghorn Leghorn, this bike doesn’t ask for attention—it demands it — "Look at me when I'm talkin' to ya, boy!”.
