Malle Mile 2018

GM @Malle Mile 2018

Team BGM made an appearance at the Malle Mile at Kevington Hall this year. Well almost everyone, Den had to dropout at the last minute due to a nasty injury trying to get the

DR Phil (400) started the night before the event! So, it was down to Clive and Tonie to fly the BGM flag and rip up the dust and dirt on one of the hottest weekends of the year...

The Malle Mile is becoming one of the go to events on the custom bike scene calendar. Its relaxed (sometimes too relaxed) and bloody good fun. Ripping around the lawns of the stately home and chillin out in the evening with beer and a BBQ on the go! What more could you want.

Due to Den's withdrawal, Tonie got to ride the recently completed moto flat tracker SR500... This bike was made for an event like this but because it was all a bit "last minute dot com" the bike was not completely race ready, so it suffered a few technical issues on the first day..But the boys got their heads together and before long, she was running sweet. Tonie managed to get thru to the novice hill climb finals only to miss a gear on the start line and lose by half a wheel in a sudden death race off.

Clive on the other hand brought two of his finest classic 80's motocross bikes.. 1984 YZ125 and "The Beast" 1984 CR500. This may have upset a few of the diehard custom boys as several passers by the BGM campsite may have muttered "check that out! He's brought a machine gun to a knife fight!". But it was all in good fun and some great racing was had. Clive wasn't happy bout the "Le Mans" style start on his YZ due to dodgy knees in the Malle 100 but he had a great blast on the hill climb onboard the CR as he battled it out with Jay Young on his Beta 350. Thanks for the racing Jay!

A special thanks to the Malle Mile team to for an easy weekend of racing and relaxing..Looking forward to the Malle 2019 already...
